Freedom Kitchen Kids / Cooking Lessons for Kids

The most important survival skill for our kids to learn has been put into a curriculum by a mom who has a passion for teaching. Developing in them a sense of courage, confidence, and creativity, even “picky-eaters” eat their creations.

The curriculum covers basic nutrition while teaching the kids how to cook. Far more than an “activity” – these lessons are packed with education. Alternatives are demonstrated for all recipes, teaching the kids options. All lessons are GF, DF, Peanut-free, with alternatives taught for egg-free, nut-free, and grain-free. Options are important! Freedom comes from choice.

The philosophy that this program is built on is that with courage, confidence and creativity, kids will learn not only how to cook, but how to take care of themselves, make choices for their needs, and problem-solve.

It takes courage to get in the kitchen and try new things. With practice comes confidence. And creativity is the ability to “think outside the box” (quite, literally, in this case).

Cooking is far more than a necessity.

  • Cooking is an art and a science
  • The process of cooking uses both left-brain and right-brain
  • Confidence is built, reinforcing the importance for self-responsibility
  • Substituting ingredients is a way to be more creative
  • And cooking enhances problem-solving skills

The arts are being overlooked with so much emphasis on STEM; yet it is the creative side of the brain that will create new things in the world.
