Gluten Free Black Bean Burger Recipe – Meat-free & gluten-free recipe. Ingredients include black beans, red bell peppers, shallot, garlic, egg, chili powder, cumin, cholula or sriacha, gluten-free bread crumbs.
Since going with a meat-free diet, I’ve been missing out on burgers. I am also gluten free, so it was difficult to find a veggie or black bean burger that was gluten free.
However, I tried this out and it worked for me…
Gluten Free Black Bean Burger Recipe Ingredients
- 1 (14 ounce) jar black beans, drained (I find this at Meijer since I don’t like canned foods)
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1 small shallot
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon Cholula or Sriacha
- 1/2 cup gluten free bread crumbs
Gluten Free Black Bean Burger Recipe Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with foil and lightly spray with a non-stick spray. In a medium bowl, mash black beans with a fork until thick. Finely chop bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Then stir into mashed beans. Add egg, chili powder, cumin, and hot sauce. Stir. Mix in bread crumbs. Divide mixture into four patties. It won’t be as “solid” as a ground beef mixture. Place the patties onto the foil and bake about 10 minutes on each side. Enjoy with a gluten free bun, or skip the bun and top with a tomato slice and spicy mayo (mayo, Sriacha, and lemon juice).
