Hamlin Corner opened the end of May 2013 after more than two years of planning and new construction. The entire restaurant was gutted and is all new. The restaurant is no permanently closed.
I had the opportunity to attend an event recently at the new Hamlin Corner sports bar in Royal Oak.

Hamlin Corner is a sports bar supporting the Detroit teams. It is set up for live music and dancing with a dance floor, stage, and disco ball. The bar and surrounding walls are adorned with flat screen TV’s.
Hamlin Corner’s interior showcases dark woods accented with stainless steel. There are lots of curves in the layout with the floor and ceiling lines set up in a smooth cohesive curvy appealing design. I love the decor, down to the modern bathroom that had me wanting to ask who their designer was. The layout at Hamlin Corner seats 256 people.
The Hamlin Corner menu boasts the most unique sports bar food you’ll find around. I’d say it’s more of a gourmet selection of bar food. One of Hamlin Corner’s signature items is BBQ Bettermade Mac n Cheese. I had the chance to try it and it was good. A nice creamy, cheesey dish that was topped with crushed Bettermade BBQ chips, rather than the traditional crumb topping. I would personally have liked to see even more flavor from the BBQ chips. I was expecting it to be more powerful than as subtle as it was. Other menu options include Chicken and Waffle, sandwiches, fish & chips, Primo’s Pizza of Birmingham, soups, salads, and burgers. Gluten Free and Vegetarian menus are available upon request. Pricing is moderate to high, considering this is a sports bar.
