Honey Acres Dark Chocolate Honey Patties are my new go-to for sweets. I’ve really been focused on what I eat because at this age in my life, everything catches up to me. I find that eliminating cane sugar has really made an improvement in my mood, skin, energy, overall health, and more. But, this elimination made it quite difficult to satisfy my candy/sweets craving that I get a couple times each day. EVERYBODY deserves a little treat or dessert.
I was beyond happy to find the Dark Chocolate Honey Patties. They literally only have 2 or 3 ingredients each (depending on the flavor). And, they come in four different varieties – Coffee, Raspberry, Chocolate, Mint, Coa Coa, and Orange.
I have tried the raspberry, chocolate and mint flavors. For some reason, I was hesitant about the orange…too many flashbacks of being “surprised” by the unknown orange cream chocolate in a box of chocolates. But, I hear that it’s more real and citrus like so I will definitely give that one a try in my next order.
With these treats, there is no cane sugar, yet these are sweet and take care of the sugar cravings. They are also gluten free, dairy free, nut free, soy free, salt-free, are kosher, low calorie, and all natural. The ingredients include raw honey, the flavor (i.e. natural peppermint extract, natural Valencia orange extract, natural raspberry flavoring) and the purest 99% dark chocolate liquor for the outer shell. The chocolate variety has only 2 ingredients – raw local Wisconsin honey, mixed in a little bit of the purest 99% dark chocolate liquor, and coated with the same chocolate.

The texture on these Dark Chocolate Honey Patties is really well done…there’s no oozing honey coming out when you bite into these. it’s nice and thick. And, the outer chocolate shell is crisp but not crumbling. It also has just the right amount of bitterness to even out the sweetness of the honey.
The Honey Acres Dark Chocolate Honey Patties can also be refrigerated or put in the freezer for an even more enhanced flavor. By chilling the honey, you tone down honey flavor and bitterness of cocoa, and bring out the other flavors more.
