It is the most recent La Saj location to open; (there is another La Saj location in Sterling Heights that has a banquet room for parties). La Saj Troy is spacious and an impressive, clean, modern restaurant.

La Saj menu offers all of the traditional Mediterranean dishes. Guests may order kibbee, falafal, grape leaves, etc for starters. Main entrees include kebobs, tawook, kafta, ghallaba, shawarma, and more. There are also plenty of great salads, homemade soups, fresh squeezed juices, sandwiches, seafood options, and tasty desserts (white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, Baklava, rice pudding, and homemade ice cream). La Saj also offers a kids menu that includes entrees such as cheeseburger, chicken tenders, grilled cheese,
grilled chicken, and macaroni and cheese. La Saj serves alcohol.
All guests are served a covered bamboo basket of soft, warm bread with a side of garlic sauce and red sauce that I wasn’t sure what it was, but it was great as well.
I noticed on the La Saj menu that it referenced “Saj-grilled” here and there, so I looked into what that was. Saj grilling is using a metal dome heated that is heated from underneath. The dome is heated at the optimal temperature of 500 degrees, allowing for foods to be cooked quickly to seal in the flavors. The Saj style of grilling also cooks food without any of the harmful properties associated with cooking directly over a flame grill.
The food at La Saj is definite quality. Great portions, fresh, and full of flavor. They take great pride in their food. The La Saj story tells how their grape leaves underwent 20 different recipes before deciding on the final offering. And, the falafel required countless hours of developing, including more than 100 separate recipes. Every dish on the menu is hand made.
