Lake St Clair Metropark, formerly known as Metro Beach Metropark, has probably had the most impressive transformation of all the Metroparks over the past couple of decades and the improvements are astounding.

The Nature Center at Lake St Clair Metropark is situated near expansive wetlands near Lake St Clair. There are numerous animals and interactive displays throughout the building and the building itself is located on trails that run along the marsh and wetlands of the park. Lake St Clair Metropark Squirt Zone Sprayground
(Open Daily – 11a-7p From Memorial Day Weekend Through Labor Day)
This splashpad is zero-entry safe for kids and extremely expansive. The large play area is roped-in so it’s very easy to keep an eye on the kids. There are plenty of shaded picnic benches throughout the spray-area. Bring sunscreen! There isn’t much shade beyond the surrounding canopies. Lake St Clair Metropark Pool
(Open Daily – 11a-7p From Memorial Day Weekend Through Labor Day)
Pool use costs just $5 per day per user, the pool area is near modern locker room (with heated showers), bathroom facilities and an impressive Beachside Grill concession stand / beach shop. The pool isn’t just for lap swimming, it features a large waterslide, inflatable obstacle course, and climbing walls. Playground

An impressive playground for kids 2-12 years old. The sprawling playground is shaded, fenced-in, and features many benches and sitting areas in the surrounding areas that can accommodate even large groups of children. The playground even has a clean water drinking fountain where you can fill up your take-along water bottles. The playground has many different, separate sections and areas that range from toddler-age attractions, all the way attractions and fun for up to pre-teens. Minigolf – Shipwreck Lagoon Adventure Golf
(Open Weekends in May in September from 11a-7p / Memorial Day Through Labor Day 10a-8p Monday Through Thursday and 7a-8p on Friday Through Sunday and Holidays)
“Shipwreck Lagoon Adventure Golf”. Kids 11 & under can play putt putt golf for just $3 a round (parents just $4 & kids under 3 are FREE). The course is meanders around a scenic mountain range that includes a waterfall that maintains a nature quality to it and isn’t at all gaudy like other mini-golf courses – (full review, pics, and info)
