Meadow Brook Hall Jazz in the Garden review, pics, and info – Jazz in the Garden at Meadow Brook Hall on the campus of Oakland University.
Jazz in the Garden at Meadow Brook Hall is a great night out, whether it’s with a date or a best friend. My best friend and I made it out the the July Jazz in the Garden and had a wonderful time.
Jazz in the Garden is simple fun glorified. Jazz in the Garden offers an evening of jazz, light hors d’oeuvres and a main floor tour of Meadow Brook Hall. Meadow Brook Hall does a fantastic job putting on a memorable event and pleasant evening with attention to every detail.
After checking in at the event, we stepped outside and were greeted by the immaculate grounds of Meadow Brook Hall. So many beautiful flowers and gardens that were landscaped perfectly. The color combinations, layout designs, and choice of flowers had my friend and I taking photos and jotting down notes.

After enjoying the pristine grounds, we headed to the The Jazz in the Garden event. The white, wedding-like tents were set up among the gardens and the perfectly maintained golf course. The interior of the tents were softened with white, pillowy, pleated drapings. Faux chandeliers hung on the pillars. Lighting shined through the soft white drapes. White chairs were set up at tables adorned with white table cloths, flower centerpieces, and candles. It was stunning.
There was a small buffet with light hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar in the corner. The light hors d’oeuvres included melons, crudités, corn chips with salsa, hummus with pita wedges, dips, and more. The bar offered wines, beer, soda, mixed drinks… These were great additions for light snacking and drinks while enjoying the music.
The Meadow Brook Hall Jazz in the Garden performers were very professional and talented. The music was pleasant and enjoyable. It wasn’t too loud – guests could enjoy the music, and still have great conversation with other guests.
Meadow Brook Hall puts on three Jazz in the Garden events each summer – June, July and August – each featuring different live jazz performers. Tickets are $30 per person, and reservations are required. Please call (248) 364-6263 for more information.
