National Walk to School Day 2020 – National Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Rain or shine, this is a great day to celebrate healthy, green initiatives with the kids.
National Walk to School Day 2020
If you live too far to walk, try to coordinate with someone who lives closer to the school. You can drop the kids off at their house and they can walk to school with their friends from there. Kids enjoy walking, and it promotes physical activity. What a great way to wake up the brain before a busy school day.
International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record-breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.
