Petoskey Brewing Company Microbrewery & Pub review, pics, hours, and menu info. Located on M-119 between Harbor Springs and Petoskey, the brewery serves their craft beers on-site as well as standard brewery fare in their rustic pub.
If you’re traveling to the Petoskey / Harbor Springs area from “down state”, Petoskey Brewing, though smaller in size, compares favorably to the Rochester Mills Beer Co in Rochester, MI. The same can be said about the Mackinaw Brewing Company in Traverse City (and other such Microbrew / restaurants around the state). While the microbrew concept is en vogue, Petoskey Brewing does the concept exceptionally well. Of the two microbreweries I listed above, I enjoy Petoskey more than both of those.

DISCLAIMER – I am not a “beer snob”. I enjoy my Bud Light Platinums and Heinekens just fine, but don’t prefer dark, heavy and exotic beers to go with my meal. In fact, I often feel a bit intimidated going to microbrews and getting lectured away from my “give me the lightest Pilsner you make” drink order. That said, the staff at Petoskey Brewery was remarkable knowledgeable and friendly about their wide selection of crafts and even managed to find me a perfect flight to try with my meal to appeal to my less-than refined beer palate. At any given time of the year, the brewery serves more than 15 different porters, ales, pilsners, IPAs, seasonals, etc.
The food at Petoskey Brewing is excellent and very affordable when comparing it to other Microbrews around the state. The menu offers numerous burger and gourmet sandwich selections typical of the brewpub genre. The food is excellent! Whatever you order, make sure you order Plath’s bacon to accompany your dish. Plath’s bacon is a Petoskey institution.
The restaurant sells merch. You can find ready-to-fill 64 & 32 oz growlers, pint glasses, sweatshirts, beanies, and other Petoskey Brewing “gear”. Of course, you can find your favorite PB beers at local stores & bars across northern Michigan. Like the Mackinaw Brewing Co, they offer a very exclusive “Mug Club” for regulars – members receive great deals on growler fills & food discounts.
In short, Petoskey Brewing company serves great beer and excellent food in a warm, charming atmosphere.
