Retro Series Snow Cone Maker Review

Retro Series Snow Cone Maker Review – review and video demo of Nostalgia Electrics Retro Series Snow Cone Maker Model #RSM702.  I bought my daughter a Retro Series Snow Cone Maker snow cone machine by Nostalgia Electrics for Christmas and it has turned out to be one of her favorite presents. I noticed that the Nostalgia Electrics brand snow cone maker seemed durable when I bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond – Much sturdier-looking than the cheap Snoopy Snow Cone Machine toy that has been popular for so many years. I purchased this particular Retro Series Snow Cone maker for $30.00 minus 20% (thanks to my stockpile of Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons).

Using the Retro Series Snow Cone Maker machine was beyond simple. We immediately “fired up” the snow cone machine and enjoyed some snow cones just minutes after opening the box. All that’s required is a simple wipe down of the unit before use and prepping the ice. The Retro Series Snow Cone Maker looks really neat and has a retro circus-like flare too it. The snow cone maker is loud yet powerful. The Retro Series Snow Cone Maker even comes with suction cups on the bottom so it doesn’t move too much while it’s turning the ice cubes to snow.

It is recommended that you allow the ice to melt a tad before using it. It makes it easier to make the snow cone if the ice is slightly thawed, i.e. beginning to turn transluscent and wet to the touch. Plus, I would guess it helps from wearing down the Retro Series Snow Cone Maker blade.

Then, you simply put the ice into the top of the snow cone machine and plug it in. There is a stand for the snow cone cup, but I just hold the cup underneath the snow cone machine instead. My one complaint is that the Retro Series Snow Cone Maker stand is difficult to use and doesn’t line up correctly. Once you have your snow cone made, you can flavor it with your favorite syrup.

At first I was concerned about where we’d get the snow cone syrup refills. You can find the snow cone syrups at Bed Bath and Beyond for a few dollars and there’s a big selection of flavors. We have blueberry lemonade, grape, and cherry.

My kids called their Retro Series Snow Cone Maker snow cones “fantastic.” And they beg for snow cones for dessert every day. They mix the syrups and create designs. And, clean-up is a breeze!

The Retro Series Snow Cone Maker can also be used to make: slush drinks, ice cream slushes, yogurt snow slushes, snow smoothies and more. You can even use your Retro Series Snow Cone Maker creatively by freezing fruit juice or milk cubes to use in the shaved-ice machine.

One final note, we could not seem to find the snow cone accessories in store or online at Bed Bath and Beyond. But, Amazon had a great selection of snow cone cups, spoon scoop straws, and snow cone cup stands – these adorable and colorful wire stands that you can insert the snow cone cup into instead of holding it.

I hope you find this Retro Series Snow Cone Maker review helpful.
