I was invited to Cedar Point to review Rougarou before it opened to the general public for the 2015 season on May 8, 2015. Rougarou is new for 2015 and harkens back to the days when Cedar Point built the highest, fastest, most dangerous roller coasters every year to bring in new travelers.

Rougarou Cedar Point suspends and hurls riders at 60 mph through turns, and loops with dips of up 137 feet. Cedar Point’s Rougarou roller coaster has 3,900 feet of steel track and is built to accommodate huge lines and lots of traffic with 3 floorless trains that occupy 32 riders per train. You can’t tell from the GoPro videos, but this coaster makes a menacing, growling sound as it whips through the turns which only adds to excitement.

Also new for 2015, Cedar Point is relocating some older rides like Dodgem Bumper Cars, and they’ve added an awesome new Sweet Spot Candy Shop on the midway. The real star of the near future will be Rougarou!
