Royal Park Hotel Gingerbread House 2013 – The giant, life-size gingerbread house returns to the lobby of The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan for the 2013 Christmas and holiday season.
The giant gingerbread house stands eight feet tall and is adorned with Christmas colors and decorations, and features fine details such as cobble stone border, candied icicles, snowflakes on the gingerbread shingled rooftop, and a toy room inside.
The Giant Gingerbread House recipe ingredients include:
- 220 Cups of Sugar
- 300 lbs of Gingerbread Mix
- 110 Cups of Powdered Sugar
- 240 Eggs
- 300 lbs of Holiday Candy
- 104 Whirley Pops
- 400 Candy Canes
- 10 Gallons of Fondant
- 90 Gallons of Water
The life-sized gingerbread house took over 580 hours to make!
This year’s life-sized gingerbread house has a toy train that runs throughout the display – new for 2013.
You can visit the giant gingerbread house in the lobby of The Royal Park Hotel any time now through January 5, 2013. The hotel lobby smells absolutely wonderful!
The Royal Park Hotel is selling gingerbread “brick” certificates to support the 2013 Red Kettle Campaign. Bricks may be purchased from the hotel’s front desk for a $10 minimum donation to The Salvation Army. Sponsors will receive a special certificate recognizing their contribution.
