Scoop on Poop Sloan Museum Review – Pics – The Scoop on Poop is the latest exhibit to the Sloan Museum in Flint MI. Based on the popular children’s book, The Scoop on Poop tells all about what poop is and how animals and humans use it.

SCOOP ON POOP SLOAN MUSEUM EXHIBIT PICS

The Scoop on Poop exhibit at Sloan Museum is highly interactive and entertaining for the kids, meanwhile boasting an educational value. Scoop on Poop is a fun, family-friendly exhibit featuring audio and visual presentations, push button interactive boards that teach the language of poop in countries around the world, one on one dung beetle races, a scale that tells how long it takes an elephant to poop your body weight, microscopes to examine fecal samples in a veterinarian’s lab, and so much more. Visitors will learn how animals use poop to build homes, hide from enemies, attract mates, and cool off… There is also lots to read and learn, quiz boards, and a live turtle named Granny.

One part of the exhibit featured a 3D model of a sewage digester showing what happens after we flush a toilet…and an environmentally friendly way to deal with human poo. Visitors can flush the toilet in order to see all the pumps and aerators in action. The sounds effects usually get a great laugh from the kids.

Another fun part of the exhibit was the Who Dung It? – Kids see 6 different (real-looking) examples of animal droppings and based on the characteristics of the poo, they try and match them up with the corresponding animal.

The Scoop on Poop exhibit is stroller friendly. However, the youngest age to really enjoy this exhibit is about 3 ½ yrs old. It takes about an hour to walk through The Scoop on Poop exhibit. We took about 1 1/2 hours since we did the Scoop on Poop exhibit as well as the rest of the museum.

The Scoop on Poop Sloan Museum Exhibit runs through September 6, 2015.

The next planned exhibit to come to Sloan Museum is Top Secret: License to Spy. The exhibit will run from September 19, 2015 – January 10, 2016 and will focus on on the science and technology of spying and espionage. Visitors will be presented with a scenario and six suspects. Armed with a Spy File, the visitor is challenged with gathering intelligence from selected exhibits to uncover information on the suspects, leading them on a journey of discovery into the secret world of spies.

Our family has truly enjoyed all of the Sloan Museum exhibits. They do a top-notch job of providing family fun exhibits with educational value. Nice job, Sloan! Can’t wait til the next one! Keep an eye out as we will review that one as well.
