Pet owners are always encouraged to bring their dogs to Shiawassee Park. With complementary litter bags and an area to splash in shallow parts of the Rouge River, Shiawassee is the closest thing to a dog park that you’ll find in the downtown Farmington area.

After a stroll through the park, walk up the back steps and over the river into downtown Farmington to enjoy a variety of different restaurants and stores.
Shiawassee Park offers reservations for their large pavilion and playscape gazebo on a first come, first served basis beginning January 1 of each calendar year. You can contact the parks department for more info on how to reserve these spaces at 248-474-5500.
