Sloan Museum VIDEOTOPIA Exhibit – Videotopia lets kids and adults experience the history of classic arcade games in a true arcade setting. Think of it as an educational AND playable exhibit as you tour and play generations of classic games.

The Sloan Museum in Flint has exhibits that change out periodically and the most recent exhibit available to visitors is VIDEOTOPIA which will run from January 24 – May 10, 2015. VIDEOTOPIA is a gallery of 73 classic video games available for guests to actually play! Everything from Caterpillar and Astertoids, to Frogger, Donkey Kong, Q*Bert and even Pong…they’re not just on display. This is a completely hands-on, arcade style exhibit. The Sloan Museum VIDEOTOPIA exhibit offers an educational value as well. The exhibit tells the story of video game history and provides background on the games. VIDEOTOPIA details the evolution of home and arcade video games. Guests will see old game consoles and learn about the progression in a fun fashion. It is a great representation of the appreciation and understanding of how video gaming came to be.

Each person receives 4 tokens with their paid entry into the VIDEOTOPIA exhibit. Then, once upon entering, tokens are 4 for $1, and game play is one token per play. Guests can also obtain additional free tokens by answering trivia questions at the “Power Up” kiosks that are set up throughout the exhibit.

Sloan Museum hours are: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Admission: $9 adults, $8 Seniors (60+), $6 Youth age 2-11, Children 1 and under are FREE.
