South Lyon Labor Day Bridge Walk 2019 – Info for the annual South Lyon Community Walk event held by the South Lyon Area Recreation Authority in conjunction with other Walks around the state modeled after the LD Mackinac Bridge Walk.
takes place Monday, September 9, 2019 at 8:45a. This all-ages event will run along the Huron Valley Rail Trail and through downtown South Lyon MI.
South Lyon Labor Day Bridge Walk 2019
You might not have to travel all the way to Mackinac this year to join the annual Labor Day Bridge Walk. You can participate in a Community Walk on Labor Day.
South Lyon is organizing a Community Bridge Walk on Labor Day, Monday September 2, 2019 at 8:45a in McHattie Park as part of the Labor Day Community Walks that are held throughout the state in conjunction with the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Walk.
Similar to the way the Mighty Mac links Michigan’s two peninsulas, the Labor Day Walks link communities together for health, fitness and active living. Participation in this event is FREE!
Walkers will meet at near the parking lot on the north side of McHattie Park (near the pavillion and the tot lot). Participants will have the option to do a 2.5 mile route or a full 5 mile route.
This event is sponsored and organized by the City of South Lyon Parks and Recreation Commission. For the safety and comfort of other walkers, the organizers respectfully asks that you leave you do not bring pets with you to this event.
You may pre-register with South Lyon Recreation on-line at www.slrec.net, over the phone at 248-437-8105 or in person at 318 W Lake Street. The first 50 registered walkers will receive a free Labor Day Walk T-shirt. Onsite registration also available but shirts are limited to the first 50 walkers.
