South Oakland Family YMCA Basketball League (new)
The youth basketball league is available for grades 1st through 8th. (Interested in coaching – contact the Y for more information!). This community basketball league is available for youth to improve skills, have fun and build friendships. Every child plays in YMCA leagues. Along with volunteer coaches children learn basketball fundamentals during one hour of practice time during the week (Tuesday or Thursday, depending on grade) with organized games on Saturdays. The program runs January 18th – March 28th.
Come out and have fun while expanding your skill set and gaining confidence in different sports. Sports include Basketball, T-ball, Soccer, Football and more.
Explore your creative side and learn new techniques with South Oakland’s art programs. There’s a class for all different skill levels.
Ages: 1 1⁄2- up
Tumbling is a great way to exercise, have fun and gain flexibility. Even parents can join in the fun with our tumbling classes.
Whether you’re just starting out with your baby, a youth beginner or an advanced swimmer we’ve got a class that’s right for you!

Stride/Girls on the Run
For Grades 3rd-8th
Stride and Girls on the Run is a running program for boys and girls. They are encouraged to build physical fitness, social awareness and self-confidence through this 10 week running program that incorporates fun activities guided by a character building curriculum. Meets at the South Oakland Family YMCA. Each session led by trained volunteer coaches. Spring session is March 9th through May 17th.
