It is not in the heart of downtown, so if you want to avoid the crowds during the main vacation seasons, you’ll find Southwoods Pub and Grill to be a nice option.

Southwoods is a completely casual family restaurant with a very broad menu so it has options for everyone – adults and kids. Southwoods Pub and Grill also has a great bar which seems to be a hotspot as it was pretty full. The overall interior is simple and has lots of booths. The staff was very nice just as you usually find in Petoskey.
Southwoods is a very nice family-style restaurant with an expansive menu. It’s also a fun bar for drinks and to watch the game. You’ll see young couples in their “pregaming” with cocktails before they head to the Odawa Casino and you’ll also see plenty of kids and families in vacationing from “downstate” as Southfwoods is very close to the local family hotels & motels. You’ll also see plenty of Petoskey locals which is a pretty good hint that you found a nice place to eat.
Did I say the menu at Southwoods pub & Grill Petoskey is expansive? Southwoods Pub and Grill Petoskey is one of the few restaurants in the area that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A rare feat for these parts since covid. The one sticking point about their hours is Sundays, they’re only open until 3p on Sundays.
The menu at Southwoods Pub and Grill Petoskey includes all kinds of foods such as salads; sandwiches like the French dip, Reuben, Monte Cristo, etc; burgers – Patty Melt, Olive Burger, Chicago Burger, etc; deep dish pizzas with all kids of toppings like meat lovers, Greek, Vegetarian, etc; all kinds of seafood including shrimp, cod, whitefish, smelt, perch, salmon, walleye, cod and trout; pasta dishes such as shrimp scampi, lasagna, chicken alfredo, etc; Mexican options – burrito and fajitas; extensive breakfast options from eight Omellettes to pancakes to Eggs Benedict to skillets, eggs, waffles, French toast…and a Bloody Bar on Saturdays and Sundays; entrees such as steak, roast beef, ribs, chicken fried chicken, etc; and appetizers of all kinds like escargot, crab cakes, onion rings, quesadillas, roasted garlic bulb and bread, fried mushrooms and more. You can see how vast the options are!

Southwoods Pub and Grill also has some interesting dessert options – all centered around ice cream…shakes and malts, flurries, cones served upside down to resemble a clown, and homemade ice cream cake that can be purchased as a whole. Southwoods Pub and Grill also serves up fudge brownie, pies, shortcake, and cheesecake.
Southwoods has a full bar that is open seven days a week starting at 8a. There are daily happy hour specials on the beer, liquor and wine selections. Happy Hour is every day from 3p-6p.
Southwoods Pub & Grill is family-friendly dining in Petoskey and a hub for vacationing travel sports teams and family gatherings, but they attract a good sports bar type of crowd too.
