OAKLAND COUNTY MOMS PRODUCT REVIEWS
If you haven’t reached the age of needing a pair of reader glasses, or “cheaters”, you likely will soon. I’ve struggled with this because I never wanted to take my sunglasses or motorcycle goggles and turn them into bi-focals. I just didn’t want this to be so permanent. It’s too expensive to get an updated pair of these when my vision changes and I need a different strength.
StickTite Lenses solves the problem. They are a removable, flexible plastic lens that you adhere to the lens of your sunglasses, goggles, mask, etc. Installation is easy, and the lenses are reusable. So, you can take them from one pair of glasses to another. StickTite Instant Reading Lenses come in a variety of powers ranging from +1.25 to +3.0. If you don’t feel like reapplying them to each pair of glasses, you can purchase multiple sets so you have one for each pair of glasses where you would want to have the reading capabilities provided by the StickTite Instant Reading Lenses. As your prescription changes, you can keep your expensive eyewear and just swap out the StickTite lens for a different strength. I was given a set of the StickTite bifocal lenses for review.
StickTite Instant Reading Lenses feel quite sturdy and thick enough that I didn’t worry about it tearing while I was applying them to my glasses, yet thin enough to apply them easily with great flexibility. To install, I just cleaned my glasses, dried them, sprayed one side of the StickTite lenses with an eyeglass cleaner, then placed the wet side of the lens against the inside of my glasses. I would put the glasses on and then take them off and slide the lenses around to adjust where I wanted them placed. I had a few minutes to play around with it before it started to dry too much. Once you get them where you want them, take a microfiber cloth and press it on the lens to dry it and get all the bubbles out. I also used the cloth as I would move the lenses around; I pushed bubbles out as I did this step.
Because I’ve never owned bi-focals or progressive glasses, I can’t make a direct comparison and comment if the StickTite Instant Reading Lenses provide a similar experience. I have owned readers, and I can say that these StickTite lenses do provide the same magnification as the readers do. The only adjustment is that the magnification only comes from the small StickTite lens so I had to get used to not seeing the magnification from the entire lens as I am used to doing with my readers. Additionally, there seems to be a slightly cloudy film when looking through the lens, but I can’t tell if that’s coming from my eyewear or the StickTite lens.
The bifocal lenses stick nicely to eyewear without using adhesives so they don’t leave behind any residue or stickiness. You can use them over and over again on different glasses. They will “stick” for multiple uses.
No one paid me for this product review. I did receive the product for free to review. I receive zero compensation if you purchase one.
