Trader Joes Baked Rice Crisps Review

Trader Joes Baked Rice Crisps – Sea Salt and Pepper – review of the baked rice crisp that is somewhere between a cracker and a chip.

Since there’s nothing to lose when trying products at Trader Joe’s (they give you a full refund if you don’t like something), I gave them a shot.

I’m pretty happy with the Trader Joes Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps. I like them because they serve more than one purpose. If you’re craving chips, these might just hit the spot. And, if you’re looking for something to dip into a salmon spread or some hommous, these are good for that too. I’ve even had them with guacamole.

I’d say they took these Sea Salt and Pepper Rice Crisps from “zero to hero” the second they made them with the Sea Salt and Pepper. The seasoning on these are perfect and quite peppery, in a very good way. It’s the seasoning that makes them addictive.

Now on to the Nutrition Info for Trader Joes Baked Rice Crisps…

Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps are made with rice, and have no added wheat. However, they are made on shared equipment with wheat so I don’t think they technically classify as Gluten Free.

Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps have 11g of whole grains per serving.

The fat content comparison has this one the winner when up against regular potato chips. One serving of regular potato chips has 9 grams of fat and the Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps has only 3 grams. Furthermore, the serving size listed on the Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps packaging is far more realistic than any I’ve seen! One serving is 38 crisps! Finally, a true serving size that is a realistic amount to consume… unlike the 1/4 cup of ice cream nobody has ever stuck to.

In addition to the 3g of fat, Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps have 230mg of sodium, 22g of carbs, and 2g of protein per serving.

Trader Joe’s Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps are trans fat-free.

Trader Joes Sea Salt and Pepper Crisps ingredients include:
brown rice, white rice, whole grain yellow corn, yellow corn masa, safflower oil, organic evaporated cane juice, sea salt, toasted dehydrated onion powder, salt and pepper seasoning, garlic powder, and torula yeast.
