Solar lights… we’ve all tried them and have likely been disappointed. I gave solar lights a shot a few years back and they were terrible. They were so dim and unimpressive I think I threw them in the trash.

I was asked if I would like to check out a set of Venusop solar string lights, and I agreed as I wanted to see if anything has changed since I last gave solar lights a try. (BTW, I was provided with these solar string lights for the review, but my opinion is all my own.)
Well, I think I can safely say that solar lights have come a long way.
The set of Venusop solar string lights I tried are available on Amazon. They are 48FT S14 outdoor string lights with 15 bulbs. The bulbs are durable LED patio lights with 4 lighting modes. And, the set is waterproof so it’s totally safe for year-round outdoor use.
The Venusop solar string lights come with a nicely sized solar panel that can either stake into the ground or can be secured with the provided screws to be hung wherever you get the best sunlight. Everything was packaged perfectly and nothing was broken. The set even comes with an extra bulb. The solar panel charges the lights for nighttime use, however, there is also a USB option to charge the solar panel if needed. You can leave the lights hung up and just disconnect the solar panel to bring it inside for charging.
Being that it’s been pretty cloudy in Michigan lately, I opted to use the provided USB connection to charge the set of lights. After charging, I tested the lights and they looked great! Very bright and fun. I also like the size and shape of the bulbs. They are bigger so they not only give off a bright light, but they are perfect for the fun, party look on an outdoor deck.
