Waterford Oaks BMX Track

Waterford Oaks BMX Track review, pics, hours, and Try BMX for FREE info for the 2025 season. The Waterford Oaks County Park BMX track is located inside the park that also hosts Waterford Oaks County Park, Paradise Pavilion playground, Waterford Oaks Waterpark, Waterford Oaks Sled Hill, and several picnic areas. The track, and the Waterford Oaks complex is operated and maintained by the Oakland County Parks division.

OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS EVENTS CALENDAR

This BMX Track provides a quarter-mile terrain that can suit any level of biker. The track is available for use for practicing riders, and those looking for competition can participate in their weekly races.

Regular practices are held on Tuesdays from early April through early November (depending on the day) for just $7 per session. Bikes and helmets can also be rented for very reasonable prices. Waterford Oaks BMX also hosts races on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Waterford Oaks BMX Track Try BMX for Free Days 2025

Never experienced the thrill of BMX before? Try it out for free! Event is free Riders must be ages two or older and wear long sleeve shirts, pants and closed-toe shoes (no Crocs). There is no charge for admission, bike rental, helmet rental or track time on free trial day. For more information, call 248-924-0043.

Must be a 2-wheeled bike (no training wheels) or a balance bike for our younger riders. Helmets are required, full-face helmets are recommended, long pants and long-shirts are also required. Waterford Oaks BMX does have a rental fleet of bikes and helmets. Limited to first come-first serve at an additional cost.

Oakland County Parks and Recreation often holds FREE events at the track. Try BMX for Free days are often held at the beginning of the spring season and end of the season. Visit OaklandCountyParks.com and check their events calendar for info on free days and other special event days happening at the track..

Group rates are also available at track for birthday parties or other outings. Each member of the group or party group will get track time, bike rental, and a helmet. Be sure to make your reservations at 248-858-0915 at least 24 hours in advance.

Waterford Oaks BMX Leagues 2025

The Beginners-only Spring 2025 League season starts Monday, May 5 (6p), and runs on the following schedule:

May 5 – 6p-8p
May 12 – 6p-8p
May 19 – 6p-8p
May 26 – NO RACES
June 2 – 6p-8p
June 9 – 6p-8p

The Beginners-only Summer 2025 League starts July 7th at 6p. The Balance Bike League begins July 18 at 6p

The League is a Beginners-only program of instruction and racing. The instructors bring boys & girls 4-15 years of age, gradually, through the fundamentals of riding, with weekly drills, which they then apply in a race of four starts, four finishes, per session.

Little ones 2-5 years old can start their riding career early with a 5-week BMX Balance Bike League. Riders can test the track out using provided equipment. In fact, if you don’t have a bike, that’s no problem. Strider bikes and helmets are available for use during the league season for all enrolled riders. The Balance Bike League begins July 18.
