Blake’s is bringing years of fall fun experience to the location and will expand on Erwin Orchards – this has already begun. I attended the Grand Opening days of Blake’s Lyon Twp in 2022 and work had already begun on upgrading the Cider Mill facility and grounds. New signage and extensive work is being done to the indoor cider mill / market and outdoor grounds with the addition of tents and what looks to be some expansion in the areas outside of the mill/store.
Blake’s learned well from their Macomb County Cider Mills. Blake’s has more than 100-acres to tinker with on their new site, I’m confident they will bringing much more to the new site in the way of entertainment. Perhaps they’ll even open a Blake’s Barnyard Funland portion of the mill ala their Armada location. I’m curious to see if they’ll bring their haunted attractions to South Lyon. Erwin Orchards famously ran spooky haunted hayrides for years before halting them the 2010s.
If you’ve been to Erwin Orchards (I have many times), many facets are the same. The HUGE John Deere Trike Trail Track is still there and so is giant hay tower. The old Mr. Bee’s Big 3-D Adventure Barn is still up…. at least for now. Blake’s also seems intent on keeping U-Pick portions of the farm going. U-Pick raspberries (red & yellow) apples, asparagus and more were popular at Erwin’s in the past.
Blake’s Lyon Twp Cider Mill 2024
For 2024, Blake’s Lyon Twp is opening Funland South Lyon on Thursdays through Sundays from 10a-6p. They will also be hosting large groups for farm parties and birthday parties. Also new, the live music stage has been expanded to allow Blake’s to bring in larger musical acts. Opening Day for the Cider Mill is Friday, September 2, 2024.
