Troy Daisy Knight Dog Park Halloween Events – Howl-O-Ween – Bring your costumed dog to the puppy patch to play and show off their costume. Photo spot, treats, and dog park access included. Detroit Grand Circus Dog Park Halloween Costume Party – Owners are encouraged to dress their pets to impress for a chance to win a prize in one of these categories: Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Most Creative Costume, and the Best Pet & Parent combination. The annual event will also feature Halloween Themed games and gifts for dogs as well as treats for their parents and DJ spinning tracks. Hosted by the Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Each visit includes a horse-drawn hayride or sleigh ride (weather dependent on which is available), a holiday sing-a-long, (complete with cozy blankets, song sheets, and jingle bells), snacks, (fruit, cookies, juice, hot cocoa, and coffee), and most importantly, a visit with Santa by the Christmas Tree. Indian Springs Metropark Santa’s Candy Cane Trail – Take a stroll along the candy cane trail for a chance to meet a variety of winter characters. You’ll even get a magical chance to see Santa before his big night. Write your letters to Santa at home and stop by Santa’s mailbox during the program to deliver your letters. Kensington Metropark Chickadee Chow Down

Kensington Metropark Chickadee Chow Down – at Kensington Metropark (810-227-8910, metroparks.com)
Bundle up and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. Around the Nature Center, a variety of winter songbirds will eagerly fly to your hand for seeds. Learn how to identify the birds you might feed, and how to properly feed songbirds in the park. Then take a short, guided walk along a mixed gravel path to meet your new feathered friends. Seed provided. Bring your camera. Lightly colored gloves or mittens are recommended for best results. This entire program is outdoors so dress warmly. Hosted by Waterford Parks & Recreation. Enjoy the farm animals, make & take craft, the annual sheep shearing, and a pancake breakfast. Admission is FREE but donations are being accepted to benefit the park/farm. Pancake breakfast cost is $5 for 10 & under and $8 for ages 11+.
