Stony Creek Nature Center
(Open School Season 1p-5p Weekdays, 10a-5p Weekends Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas / Summer Season 10a-5p Daily)
Renovated from the ground-up in 2009, the Stony Creek Nature Center is very modern and features hand-on interactive learning stations, numerous displays, easy access to nature areas, and many critters to check out. The Stony Creek Nature wasn’t much more than a house with some aquariums in it when I was a kid. I’m thankful for the upgrade and thankful they held on to the beautiful wooden balcony deck that overlooks acres of scenic forest and a stream – (full review, pics, and info)

Eastwood Beach Playground, Eastwood Bach, & Trippo Waterslide
(6a-10p Summer Stony Creek Metropark Hours)
Built in 2012, the Eastwood Beach playground covers almost a full acre of beachfront. The state-of-the-art playground has features that you won’t find at many other playscapes including built-in scavenger hunts, windup sound machines, hydraulic fireman pole, spiderweb climbing wall, 3-D maze, and more! You can also enjoy a giant inflatable waterslide in the summer (costs associated), bike rentals, indoor restroom facilities, the beach, concessions, and more – (full review, pics, and info)

Go Ape Zipline Adventure Course
(Season starts Mid-April and Runs through Mid October)
The newly constructed Stony Creek Metropark zipline adventure course is a unique outdoor experience that takes participants on a 2-3 hour journey through the forest canopy. Guests will take on suspended obstacles through the jungle crossing tree tops, swing on a Tarzan swing and grab onto a rope wall, and glide through the breeze on a zip line while enjoying the incredible view. The highest platform is 50 Feet. The longest crossing is 71 Feet. The longest zip-line is a relaxing 609 Feet.
