Nature Center
(Open School Season 1p-5p Weekdays, 10a-5p Weekends Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas / Summer Season 10a-5p Daily)
Renovated from the ground-up in 2009, the Stony Creek Nature Center is very modern and features hand-on interactive learning stations, numerous displays, easy access to nature areas, and many critters to check out. The Stony Creek Nature wasn’t much more than a house with some aquariums in it when I was a kid. I’m thankful for the upgrade and thankful they held on to the beautiful wooden balcony deck that overlooks acres of scenic forest and a stream – (full review, pics, and info)

The state-of-the-art playground has features that you won’t find at many other playscapes including built-in scavenger hunts, windup sound machines, hydraulic fireman pole, spiderweb climbing wall, 3-D maze, and more. You can also enjoy a giant inflatable waterslide in the summer (costs associated), bike rentals, indoor restroom facilities, the beach, concessions, and more – (full review, pics, and info)
