Canterbury Village Michigan Dog Fest – Bring your furry friend and head to Canterbury Village for a tail waggin’ good time. Kids can have fun looking for paw prints around the village, which they can turn in for candy and other small prizes. Harrison Twp Monarch & Hummingbird Festival – Lake St Clair Metropark Celebrate the smallest migrators, the Monarch Butterfly and the Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Short, guided hikes throughout the festival in search of these amazing animals. There will be natural crafts, gardening tips, and monarch tagging demonstrations. All ages. FREE event. No pre-registration required. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark. You can purchase an annual pass HERE.
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim – at Waterford Oaks County Park. All dogs owners must show valid Michigan dog license and proof of current vaccinations at the time of the event. Dogs swim by weight category. Three swims. Noon-12:50p – 70lbs plus, 1p-1:50p – 31lbs-69lbs, 2p-2:50p – 30lbs and under. Pre-registration cost is $10/dog and includes admission, contest entry and one 50-minute swim session. On-site registration is $15/dog if availability allows. To register, call 248-858-0916. Detroit Zoo Tons of Trucks – Interact with vehicles of all shapes and sizes at the Detroit Zoo. At Tons of Trucks, you’ll touch and climb trucks, lifts and carts used by Detroit Zoo staff, and see vehicles from local police and fire departments, construction companies and more. $3. Keep the fun going with a discounted visit to the Zoo. Does not include parking ($8). After the event, show your Tons of Trucks ticket at the Detroit Zoo admission gate and receive $3 off your total transaction. Purchase tickets here
