White Lake Winter Carnival – WLCL – at White Lake Inn (248-887-1818). Hosted by the White Lake Citizens League Winter Carnival. The annual winter festival has fireworks, a broomball tournament, kids activities, and more. More info…schedule of events.
Indian Springs Metropark Earth Day Camp – Day camp for kids will cover the basics of reduce, reuse, recycle. Campers will learn to be more conscious visitors in the parks and in nature. Enjoy lots of fun projects and crafts. Please bring a lunch and wear clothes that can get messy. Ages 7+. $40 per person. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 248-625-7280. Hazel Park Healing Hearts Mom to Mom Sale – $3 admission. Sale is 10-2 for the general public and 9-3 for sellers. The cost is $5 from 10-11 and $3 thereafter. If you are looking to buy or sell new or gently used baby and children clothing, maternity clothing, toys, nursery furniture, books, bikes, and anything else that is baby, child, or maternity related, this event is for you. This is the perfect Spring cleaning option for those who are selling, and the perfect seasonal stock-up stop for those who are buying! This event is also handicap accessible and stroller friendly. Hazel Park Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade – Join the City of Hazel park on Memorial Day for a ceremony starting at 9a at City Hall on John R and Nine Mile Road. The ceremony will be followed by a parade that marches from Hazel Park Jr High to Green Acres Park. Hosted by the City of Hazel Park.
MetroBarks Dog Walking Club at Indian Springs Metropark – Prepare to walk between one to three miles along our paved trail, with stops along the way for your pups to sniff, explore and rest. Dogs are required to remain on a 6-foot leash. Please be prepared to clean up your pet’s waste. If your dog is having a bad day or displaying aggressive behaviors, you may be asked to leave the program early. Ages 8+. $3 per child / $5 per adult. White Lake Twp Fireworks – White Lake Citizens League Fireworks at Dusk. Annual Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Display on White Lake. Fireworks will be launched from 2 barges located near the southern end of White Lake. Private Event. For more info, visit www.wlcl.org
Downtown Milford 4th of July Parade – Downtown Milford. Due to road closures, this year’s event will take a new scenic route. The parade will begin at 11a on Cabinet Street and will proceed east on Commerce Street to Main Street. Then, will head south on Main Street to end at the entrance of Central Park. For the best parade view, set up a seat along the stretch of Commerce Street from Cabinet to Main Street. You can expect to see proud veterans, color guards, marching bands and more proudly make their way through the route while the community cheers them on.
