FREE Summer Shindig – Catalpa Oaks County Park Enjoy an evening of fun at Catalpa Oaks County Park. Activities include inflatables, a climbing wall, zip line, face painting, balloon artists and more. In addition, there will be a free concert from 7:30p-9p followed by a showing of the movie “Family Camp” at 9p. Food trucks will have hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and more for sale from 6p-9p. No registration is needed, just come out and have fun. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Wint Nature Center Puddle Jumper Series – at Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park 248-625-6473. Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the great outdoors. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and related activity. Each child will receive a craft kit to take and make at home. This series meets the second Friday of each month. Cost: $4/child. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Spencer Park Bass Tournament – The Park Bass Tournament is open to ALL AGES and SKILL LEVELS. All fishing is done from shore and there will be prizes for the most bass caught and also for the largest bass. Tournament participation is $5. Participants receive free park vehicle entry.
