Kensington Metropark Movie Nights – Pack up the family and head out to your Metropark to enjoy a movie under the stars. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs and some popcorn and your favorite snacks and spend a night in the park then settle in to enjoy the show. Arrive early to pick your viewing spot and then before the movie starts enjoy the park. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark. All ages event. Each visit includes a horse-drawn hayride or sleigh ride (weather dependent on which is available), a holiday sing-a-long, (complete with cozy blankets, song sheets, and jingle bells), snacks, (fruit, cookies, juice, hot cocoa, and coffee), and most importantly, a visit with Santa by the Christmas Tree. Kensington Metropark Chickadee Chow Down – at Kensington Metropark (810-227-8910, metroparks.com)
Bundle up and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. Around the Nature Center, a variety of winter songbirds will eagerly fly to your hand for seeds. Learn how to identify the birds you might feed, and how to properly feed songbirds in the park. Then take a short, guided walk along a mixed gravel path to meet your new feathered friends. Seed provided. Bring your camera. Lightly colored gloves or mittens are recommended for best results. This entire program is outdoors so dress warmly.
