Casa Real Madison Heights Review

Casa Real Madison Heights review, hours, and menu info – After having visited the Casa Real in Oxford, I decided to try the Casa Real in Madison Heights off of Dequindre Rd. There is also a Casa Real location in Flint.

OAKLAND COUNTY MEXICAN RESTAURANTS

Casa Real Madison Heights Review

The interior of Casa Real Madison Heights very much resembles the same Mexican decor of the Casa Real Oxford location… very garish but in a fun, festive way. The staff was just as friendly, and the restaurant was just as clean.

We ordered the frozen Mango margarita. I’ve had Mango margaritas before, but the Casa Real “Mangorita” was by far the best. They use real mangos, pureed for a full mango flavor. We went on a Thursday and they were on special. So worth going back there for just these as this was the highlight of the meal!

The salsa at Casa Real Madison Heights has a great smooth texture and zesty flavor. Everyone at the table truly enjoyed it, however some felt it was a bit on the “too spicy” side. I might just go back for Mangoritas and chips/salsa.

I ordered the Mariscos Mazatlan. The description from the menu reads “Grilled shrimp with slices of onion, bell peppers, scallops, and crab meat, topped with melted cheese and cheese dip. Served with rice, beans, guacamole salad, tomatoes, sour cream and tortillas.” I ordered it with no cheese, no sour cream, and no tortillas as I’m eating gluten free/dairy free. The dish itself came with no cheese, however they had sour cream on the sides plate. When I mentioned it, they fixed it, but had cheese on the refried beans. At this point, I just scooped it off so I could eat. They also gave me the tortillas, which I just ignored. My mom ordered the same dish. Both of our onions were burnt to a crisp. Additionally, the “crab meat” was the imitation crab (and burnt as well) and the scallops were no where to be found. I think I would have been better off just going with a shrimp fajita. It’s basically the same thing and I would have avoided the crab and scallop mishaps. That said, it was still a tasty dish and I’ll write off the errors as a one-time thing, hopefully. Everyone else was very happy with their dishes… from soft tacos to quesadillas to burritos.

Casa Real Madison Heights has an extensive drinks menu with cocktails like the Mexicosmo, Daiquiries topped with whipped cream, Mexican drinks, 11 different flavored Margaritas, 40 different tequilas, and much more.

I signed up to become a Casa Real Amigos for the latest entertainment news, coupons and menu specials from Casa Real Authentic Mexican Cuisine and Cantina. I entered in my name, address, and email. The sign up said that I would get an an Amigos Club card when I brought in my confirmation “Thank you” email to any of the Casa Real restaurant locations. However, I never received the email. I’ll check into this the next time I stop in. Looking forward to the card because when you present your Amigo’s Club card every time you dine in or get carry out, you get 10% OFF your entire bill. Not sure about the details since I never got the email, but that seems to be a pretty decent deal.
