Oakland County Parks Cross Country Ski School 2026
Oakland County Parks Cross Country Ski School returns for the first time since 2017… sort of. They’re bringing back the same lessons and branding them as “Introduction to Classic Cross-Country Skiing” which, is a perfect description. I learned how to Cross Country Ski from Oakland County Parks back in the early days of our website and I found the lessons fun, easy, and informative.
Oakland County Ski School takes place various Saturdays from January 10, 2026 through February 28, 2026. Lessons are $35 per person / session and includes skis, poles and boot rental. Register for one Saturday of cross country ski lessons or all of them!

Learn the basics of cross-country skiing during this two-hour class. Learn info about cross-country ski equipment and gear. You’ll also learn tips & tricks to get you moving on classic cross-country skis quickly and easily.
Class meets at the boathouse and each session is limited to 20 participants.
Preregistration and payment required by calling 248-625-2044 Monday-Friday 9a-4p. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express accepted.
Independence Oaks provides cross country skiing fun on nearly 10 miles of groomed trails throughout the scenic park. Independence Oaks cross country skiers can find warming areas and heated restrooms available for convenience.
