A summer filled with adventure, exploration, and fun. Farmington Hills Unplugged Summer Camps have something for everyone ages 3 to 18 – art, theatre, music, sports, archery, skateboard, nature, and STEM. Or for the generalist in the crowd, give the General Day Camps a try.

Farmington Hills Christmas Break Events – Christmas Break Multi Sport Camp

Multi-Sport (Basketball & Soccer) programs are designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. Farmington Hills Unplugged Summer Camps 2022

Make Farmington Hills your home for summer camp. Farmington Hills Parks and Rec hosts over 3,000 kids each year in our licensed day camps. Kids make friends, explore new places and gain self-confidence. Every day is an adventure.

Working parents? Many camps also offer before and after care for an additional fee. All camps are open to both residents and non-residents.

Farmington Hills Summer Camps 2022 – General Day Camps

Camp Turtle (ages 6-7) Weekly summer day camps located at the Hawk Community Center. The new community center comes complete with state of the art aquatic center and tons of outdoor play space. Meet new friends, create art projects, swim, play outside, and much more!

Camp Otter (ages 8-9) Weekly summer day camps located at the Hawk Community Center. The new community center comes complete with state of the art aquatic center and tons of outdoor play space. Meet new friends, create art projects, swim, play outside, and much more!

Camp Penguin (ages 10-11) – Weekly summer day camps located at the Hawk Community Center. The new community center comes complete with state of the art aquatic center and tons of outdoor play space. Meet new friends, create art projects, swim, play outside, and much more!

Camp Polar Bear (ages 6-11) – This camp combines Turtle, Otter, and Penguin for one final week at the end of summer.

Safety Town (ages 4-6) – Campers will spend their days riding around the outdoor safety town singing, dancing, and doing crafts. Kids learn street, bike, playground safety and more.

Safety Town 2 (ages 5-7) – Children will build off of previous Safety Town knowledge and learn about bullying, germs, poison safety, home safety, and weather safety.

TourXplore! Junior (ages 7-9) – This one-of-a-kind camp offers field trips each and every day, giving our campers the opportunity to find new passions and hobbies. We honor the summer camp experience by spending our mornings playing outside, singing camp songs, and doing crafts before our trips.

Camp Creative (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Stretch your imaginations and have a blast in this fun mixed media camp! Many different projects, themes and media will be explored throughout the week, including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and more!

Camp Craft (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Explore puppetry, jewelry making, pottery, fibers, and more!

Camp Clay (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Play with clay and learn the fundamentals of ceramics!

Art Around the World (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Discover ancient, traditional, and contemporary art forms from different cultures around the world using a different variety of media!

Comics, Cartoons, & More (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Delve into the world of storybook arts & illustration. Create your own graphic novel and explore story development & technical skills.

Hogwarts Camp (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Hogwarts and Harry Potter themed art. Enjoy painting, drawing, sculpture, and more.

Jedi Art Camp (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Use a variety of media to create drawings, paintings, sculpture of the Star Wars universe.

The Dance Experience Camp (ages 6-8 or 9-12) – Intro to all things dance & movement. Learn healthy movement and different kinds of dance

Camp Hip Hop (ages 6-8 or 9-12) – Intro to the history and different styles of hip hop music and dancing. Includes breakdancing, krumping, pop & lock, & more.

Comics, Cartoons, & More (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – Delve into the world of storybook arts & illustration. Create your own graphic novel and explore story development & technical skills.

Camp Asè (6-9 or 10-12) – Campers will learn about the culture of Africa through dance and music and give a performance at the end of the week.

Go With The Flow (ages 6-9 or 10-12) – A week full of Yoga, Capoeira, Tai Chi, and more.

Rising Stars (ages 6-9) – Drama through music, storytelling, movement, improv, and theatre games. Final day of camp includes a performance!

Little Stars Theatre Camp (ages 4-5) – Half-day features drama through music, storytelling, movement, improv, and theatre games!

Musical Stars Theatre Camp (ages 10-15) – Hands-on, high-energy exploration of musical theatre genre including singing, acting, and choreography. Performance on the final day of camp.

Interact Musical Stars Theatre Camp (ages 10-13 or 14-17) – Hands-on, high-energy exploration of musical theatre genre including singing, acting, and choreography. Performance on the final day of camp.

Improv Stars Theatre Camp (ages 10-15 or 14-17) – Improv actors work as a team to develop their own stories based on short prompts.

Total Drama Stars Theatre Camp (ages 10-15) – Learn to write, direct, and act in your own play!

All Stars Theatre Intensive Camp (ages 10-15) – Learn to audition while rehearsing on a real stage!

Camp Stomp (ages 4-5 or 6-9) – A hybrid of dance, and music. Campers learn to create musical compositions and unconventional instruments to test the limits of what defines music.

Verses Camp (6-9 or 10-13) – Learn the art of songwriting, composing, and performing. Includes creative writing and vocal instruction.

World Rhythm Camp (6-9) – Learn about the musical traditions of cultures around the world.

Farmington Hills Summer Camps 2022 – Sports Camps

Multi-Sport Youth (ages 7-12) – Athletes will learn the rules and essential skills of Baseball, Flag Football, and Soccer, along with vital life lessons such as sportsmanship and teamwork. All campers receive a T shirt and ball.

Multi-Sport Mini (ages 4-7) – Athletes will learn the rules and essential skills of Baseball, Flag Football, and Soccer, along with vital life lessons such as sportsmanship and teamwork. All campers receive a T shirt and ball.

P2 Soccer Training (ages 6-16) – P2 Soccer is a full-service soccer education company that specializes in providing professional coaches and trainers across the country. Players receive a T shirt and evaluation.

All Sports Camp & More (ages 6-9) – Camps will enjoy the basic fundamentals of soccer, basketball, dance, kickball, and gymnastics with fun games, contests, and mini tournaments.

PLUS Skateboarding Camp (ages 5-19) – Designed for beginner and intermediate skateboarders. Learn all aspects of skateboarding including board set-up, safety tips, history of skateboarding and skateboard graphic design. Each participant gets a skateboard deck to design, t- shirt, and more.

Playmakers Youth Basketball Camp (ages 7-14) – Fundamentals of basketball with offensive & defensive principles. Includes, film sessions, court time, and scrimmages. Current HS players will participate in instruction.

Volleyball Camp (ages 8-14) – All aspects of the game are taught includeing passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Designed for the beginner to intermediate player.

Boys Lacrosse (ages 9-16) – Beginners & intermediates will work on catching, shooting, cradling, throwing, defense and teamwork. Individuals must provide equipment

Girls Lacrosse (ages 9-16) – Beginners & intermediates will work on catching, shooting, cradling, throwing, defense and teamwork. Individuals must provide equipment

Skateboarding Camp (ages 5-18) Designed for beginner and intermediate skateboarders. Learn all aspects of skateboarding including board set-up, safety tips, history of skateboarding and skateboard graphic design.

P5 Basketball Camp (ages 11-14) – Fundamentals of basketball with offensive & defensive principles. Includes, film sessions, court time, and scrimmages.

P5 Basketball Ball Handling Camp (ages 11-14) – Learn to become excellent ball handlers. Dominant and weak hand ball drills. Includes competitive drills, video analysis, and guest speakers.

P5 Basketball Ball Shooting Camp (ages 11-14) – Shooting fundamentals include lay-ups, mid-range, 3 pointers, and free throws. Includes competitive drills, video analysis, and guest speakers.

P5 Track & Field Camp (ages 8-14) – Fundamentals of running, jumping, and throwing. Learn about and practice sprints, jumps, throwing training, distance running, and more.

P5 Football Camp (ages 8-14) – Position specific skills and development for QBs, WRs, LBs, RBs, & DBs. Enjoy the Hawk Stadium field!

Experience Archery Camp (ages 9-17)  Camp students will learn all about safety, proper handling, minor equipment skills, T-form and techniques to be successful in the life sport of archery.

Golf Camp (ages 6-15) Participants will work on their swing and grip on the driving range, develop a smooth putting stroke and have the opportunity to play a few holes each night.

Ranger Apprentice Hunger Games Camp (ages 9-17) Students will learn the key components in wilderness survival skills. From fire starting without matches, wild edibles, survival knots, wilderness first aide, track and scat Identification, shelter building and of course plenty of archery practice and skills.

Youth Pickleball Camp (ages 8-14) – Learn to play and compete in a fun, exciting setting with a HAWK pickleball instructor.

Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Camp (ages 11-14) – A great camp for youth & young teens to explore future job opportunities. Learn lifesaving skills, in-water rescues, use of a rescue tube, First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Farmington Hills Summer Camps 2022 – Nature Camps 

Camp Pine (ages 7-9) – Explore the outdoors with hands-on activities, games and crafts focused on the natural world. Each week has an exciting new theme which allows campers to discover nature by hiking the park trails, practicing outdoor skills and having fun outside!

Camp Maple (ages 9-12) – Explore the outdoors with hands-on activities, games and crafts focused on the natural world. Each week has an exciting new theme which allows campers to discover nature by hiking the park trails, practicing outdoor skills and having fun outside!

Camp Cedar (ages 5.5-7) – Explore the outdoors with hands-on activities, games and crafts focused on the natural world. Each week has an exciting new theme which allows campers to discover nature by hiking the park trails, practicing outdoor skills and having fun outside!

Young Explorers Camp (ages 3.5-5) – Explore the outdoors with hands-on activities, games and crafts focused on the natural world. Each week has an exciting new theme which allows campers to discover nature by hiking the park trails, practicing outdoor skills and having fun outside!

Outdoor Survival Camp (ages 8-12) – Get ready for adventure and outdoor fun! Campers will focus on building their wilderness skills like tracking, shelter building, archery, and camping. The week ends with an overnight camping experience at Heritage Park. Campers MUST have participated in at least one week of camp at Heritage Park in 2022 to register for this experience.

Outdoor Survival Camp (ages 8-12) – Enjoy hands-on activities, games, art projects, and more. Campers will focus on building their wilderness skills like tracking, shelter building, archery, and camping. The week ends with an overnight camping experience at Heritage Park.

Outdoor Recreational Sampler (ages 12-14) – Campers will sample a variety of outdoor activities which may include hiking, exploring, fishing, river walks, archery, wilderness skills, and more. Optional evening camp fire and night hikes on Thursday.

STEM in Nature Camp (ages 12-14) – Experience a week looking closely at nature. Campers will apply “STEM in Nature” skills to creatively design solutions to real-world problems such as energy, pollution, and nature protection. Optional evening campfire and night hike program on Thursday after camp!

Fishing Camp at Founders (ages 8-14) – Get OUTSIDE this summer to enjoy a week of fishing and discovering the natural areas of Founders Sports Park. Campers will spend each morning practicing catch and release fishing at the Fishing Pier. We will tie flies and make lures, and participate in a real fish fry! All equipment provided.  This camp is a half day. Extended care not available.

Farmington Hills Summer Camps 2022 – Counselor in Training

Counselors in Training (CIT) (ages 12-14) – CITs will learn the basics of child care and first aid. CITs will participate in and help with activities for campers. During the interview process, we will determine the best fit for each individual, some other activities may include swimming, art, nature programs, etc.
