Oakland County Sushi Restaurants

Oakland County Sushi Restaurants – Reviews of our favorite Sushi restaurants in Oakland County Michigan. Reviews, pics, and menu info.

Here are some of the Oakland County Sushi restaurants we’ve tried since Oakland County Moms began. This list is thin as I’ve only recently fallen in love with Sushi (due to diet limitations).

You can click on each Sushi restaurant listed for full reviews and pics. I know a few off-hand I’ve heard about and I haven’t tried yet. At the rate we’re going, we should have ‘em all covered soon enough! In the meantime, please contact me if you know any Sushi Restaurants in Oakland County we should try/review.

Makimoto Sushi (2741 University Dr, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, 248-475-0880)
Makimoto Sushi has just become a top player in my sushi tour. The sushi was fantastic and definitely some of the best I’ve ever had in Oakland County. Super fresh, great quality and quantity. When you look at everything you’re getting, it’s reasonably very fairly-priced. (Full Review – Pics)

East Ocean (6405 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston, MI 48346, 248-625-8863)
East Ocean is more of Chinese restaurant that serves Thai Food and, yes, SOME sushi. Though not a lot of sushi options on the menu, what I sampled was very fresh and tasty. Side note – the drinks at East Ocean are lethally delicious! (Full Review – Pics)

Oakland County Sushi Restaurants – Madison Hts Sushi Restaurants

Sushi Bon (5812 E Twelve Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48092, 586-806-2210)
OK, so it’s not TECHNICALLY an Oakland County Sushi restaurant, it is a mile away from Madison Hts.. I was very impressed with Sushi Bon. We were impressed by the quality, freshness, and selection at Sushi Bon. There were so many to choose from, and a very creative array of spicy rolls and deep fried rolls. Bibimbop is the only non-sushi item on the menu. (Full Review – Pics)

Rochester / Rochester Hills Sushi Restaurants

Pudthai and Sushi (2964 Rochester Rd S, Rochester Hills, MI 48307)
There’s plenty on the menu at Pudthai and Sushi. You will find Japanese and Thai food, and an assortment of Sushi rolls and Sashimi. The cooks at Pudthai and Sushi take pride in their work and it shows in their presentation. The bento boxes are beautifully arranged, and everything has that special touch to it. They really take their time with it. (Full Review – Pics)

SOHO brings a large selection of sushi. SOHO Rochester Hills offers the standard vegetable rolls, specialty rolls, tempura rolls, etc. We only ordered sushi and we were all happy with our selections. Everything was fresh and quality, nicely rolled, and well presented. SOHO’s Japanese menu also offers traditional Japanese fare and extensive Korean cuisine items. (Full Review – Pics)

Take Sushi (1366 E Walton Blvd, Rochester Hills, MI 48309, 248-652-7800)

Royal Oak MI Sushi Restaurants

Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse (1824 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Royal Oak, MI 48073, 248-288-6666)
Part Japanese Steakhouse, part Hibachi, part sushi restaurant, all fantastic. Kyoto serves appetizers, sushi and hibachi meals. We tried the Do Bomb cooked sushi, and it was “the bomb” – shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy mayo and crab stick. It was incredibly fresh and so delicious. (Full Review – Pics)

Ronin Sushi (326 W 4th Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067, 248-546-0888)
Ronin Sushi has a great, elegant layout. The sushi bar is located in one area with seating and more dining area seating. Then, there’s another area that is more set off to the side where you’ll find a bar with seating as well as lounge area seating. There’s many different options to suit your mood. Cafe Sushi offers a full Asian, Chinese and Japanese menu. Cafe Sushi seems relatively modern inside so it’s a great dining in option. Sushi restaurants take pride in coming up with all the creative rolls, and it truly is what makes dining for sushi so fun and enjoyable. Cafe Sushi does not disappoint in the creativity department. (Full Review)

Sushi at Wow Sushi is fantastic. I heard it was something I needed to try, so I gave it a shot and it’s now one of my favorite sushi places. The unique combinations at Wow Sushi make it difficult to choose, but luckily, the menus are very helpful. Not the most fun place to eat in, but the Sushi is worth the trip. (Full Review)

Sushi Land (5903 Dixie Hwy, Village of Clarkston, MI 48346, 248-623-2555)
The Sushi Land Clarkston menu is huge! Exactly what you’d expect and hope for from a full service sushi restaurant. The sushi tastes great but the portion sizes could be better. (Full Review – Pics)

Big Wave Sushi (3643 S Baldwin Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48359, 248-481-6991)
Nice sushi bar in a small restaurant with limited seating. Tasty sushi rolls but the portions are tiny! Big Wave sometimes features live music on the weekend evenings. Staff seemed completely unfamiliar with their product. (Full Review – Pics)

Sakura Japanese Fusion (6866 N Rochester Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48306, 248-608-3867)
Sakura serves Japanese dishes and sushi. I did a sushi take out recently and I was quite impressed. The restaurant itself was also quite nice and I would definitely dine in. Sakura has a sushi bar as well as ample dine in seating. Sakura offers an extensive sushi menu. I want to try out some of the raw fish options as well, such as the Rainbow roll, spicy tuna, etc. (Full Review – Pics)
