Oster Convection Countertop Oven Review

Oster Convection Countertop Oven Review – Model #6081 – Toaster oven review. I’m using this toaster oven as a jumping in point to teach my kids how to cook.

It’s funny how I grew up with an old-fashioned mom who had no use for a toaster oven. Everything was homemade and cooked in portions that could feed three families, so the bigger the stove, the better. In fact, we had two stoves – one upstairs and one in the basement.

Now that us kids are all married and out of the house with families of our own, my mom has decided to try out a toaster oven. What she found was that the toaster ovens these days are basically a mini oven. It’s big enough to cook a meal for two and it’s quite convenient. My mom even mentioned that my 10-year old nephew got a toaster oven for his birthday because he enjoys cooking and my brother thought this would be a great way to get him started on some independent cooking.

What an idea! Having a toaster oven around the house is a perfect way to teach kids how to cook. My kids are still pretty young to be messing around with a regular oven because of the size and the hard to reach knobs. The toaster oven is a much safer alternative.

My son (age 9) is interested in cooking, so we ran out to Bed Bath and Beyond and picked up a toaster oven. For $60, we were able to purchase an Oster Convection Countertop Oven. And, of course, we used one of our several 20% off BBB coupons and got an even better deal. The Oster® Convection Countertop Oven is mid-range in pricing, but seemed to get some of the best reviews. And I can affirm that I absolutely love the Oster® Convection Countertop Oven. For that price, I got everything I wanted.

The Oster Convection Countertop Oven cooks quickly and evenly, and has all the different selections you need – toast, broil, convection oven, pizza, warming… It has a removable crumb tray that makes for easy cleaning. The only point I should warn you about is that the outside gets hot while it’s cooking. The handle is cool to the touch, but the top and sides will get hot. That would be my only “complaint” about the Oster® Convection Countertop Oven, and I wouldn’t even call it that.

I can honestly say that we use the Oster Convection Countertop Oven several times a day. And, best of all, it has allowed for my son to try out his cooking skills. The Oster Convection Countertop Oven is not intimidating like a stove can be, and it’s easier to learn how to be safe and have fun while cooking. My nine-year old can make pizza bagels, cocktail wienies, and more with the Oster® Convection Countertop Oven. He is looking forward to trying out more meals in the Oster® Convection Countertop Oven. He truly enjoys preparing meals for himself and his younger sister!

In addition, I have made pies, meatloaf, banana bread, and have cooked many frozen foods quickly – without having to wait for the oven to heat up. The Oster Convection Countertop Oven is a true convenience, and so far, a quality toaster oven.
