Birmingham Day on the Town 2022 – Birmingham hosts its sidewalk sales and biggest retail event of the year, Day on the Town. This event draws thousands and include many family-fun events and activities! Day on the Town is Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 9a-6p. Day on the Town – “When Upscale Goes On Sale”. Enjoy live entertainment, a HUGE 9-hour sale, children’s activities, FREE parking, and more!

Birmingham Weekend Events – Back to Birmingham Sale
Downtown Birmingham
Throughout the promotion shoppers will find discounted high-end merchandise on the sidewalks and in downtown Birmingham stores; no streets will be closed. Shoppers will find clothing, jewelry, artwork, antiques, dishes, vases, toys and more. For more info, visit



This event will see Old Woodward from Willits to Brown and Maple from Bates to Peabody CLOSED for a 9 hour sale. Sidewalk Sales shoppers will have enjoy FREE parking for the entire Birmingham Day on the Town event. All Birmingham parking structures and all Birmingham parking meters will be FREE for this event.

This sidewalk sales shopping event happens rain or shine. The live entertainment will not take place in the event of storms or heavy rain. Stores will be open Saturday with bargains!

Children’s activities at the event start at 9a at 151 Martin St with the first annual FREE Birmingham Police Department Bike rodeo for kids ages 4-12. Kids will learn bike riding and safety skills, practice on challenge courses, visit the bike wash station, and receive a personalized bike safety license. FREE inspections will be offered by the Birmingham Police Department Bike Patrol Unit & the Birmingham Fire Dept. Throughout Day on the Town, kids can enjoy the Kid Zone all day. Kid Zone features a rock climbing wall, crafts, & bouncehouse.
