Clarkston Weekend Events – Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing
Independence Oaks County Park (9501 Sashabaw Road, Clarkston, MI, 248-625-6473)
Learn the basics of cross-country skiing during this two-hour class, including information about equipment and gear and tips and tricks to get you moving on classic cross-country skis quickly and easily. Cost is $35/person and includes skis, poles and boot rental until 4p. the day of class. Class meets at the Independence Oaks County Park’s boathouse and is limited to 20 participants. Parents, grandparents, nannies and caregivers: Bring your little ones to Wint Nature Center for a caregiver-guided hour of activities, fun and friendship with local families on Thursdays. Participate in a caregiver-led activity provided by nature center staff. Enjoy coffee, tea and conversation with other caregivers. Conversation for adults; social interaction for babies, toddlers and young children. Optional activities may take place outside, dress for the weather.
