Stony Creek Metropark Kids Night at the Nature Center – Drop your kids off and enjoy your Friday night, kid-free. Your kids will have a blast as they meet the nature center animals, including our nocturnal opossum. They’ll get a chance to explore outside along a trail, looking for tracks in the moonlight, gazing at the growing moon, and listening for owl calls and coyote howls. Kids will warm up around our campfire and cook s’mores. Snacks will be provided. Ages 7-12. $10 per child. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 586-781-9113.
Rochester Hills MLK Day Snowfort & Campfire
Rochester Hills MLK Day Snowfort & Campfire – Come dressed for the weather and ready towork and build an igloo-style snow fort. No snow? No problem. Create a fort made from other natural materials instead. Deconstruct the fort at the end and talk a bit about “leaving no trace”. A campfire and hot chocolate will also be provided. Bloomer Park Sap to Syrup Pancake Breakfast – (3 time slots available). Visit Bloomer Park and our Sugar Bush to see an old-fashioned sap-to-syrup boiling operation. We will be making syrup from trees tapped right here in Rochester Hills. Sample some real maple syrup and enjoy a pancake breakfast complete with sausage, juice and coffee.
