Grab your family and friends and head downtown to join us for the 18th annual March on Main Street in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Lineup begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Kroger parking lot. The march begins at 1 p.m. and will conclude at the The Suzanne Haskew Arts Center. Hosted by Huron Valley MLK Day.

Both Berkley Schools and Royal Oak students are collaborating on this event that will include speakers, the Detroit Youth Choir, testimonials on what Dr. King and his “I have a dream” speech mean to you, and a Freedom March around the school. Come dressed for the weather and ready to work and build an igloo-style snow fort. No snow? No problem. Create a fort made from other natural materials instead. Deconstruct the fort at the end and talk a bit about “leaving no trace”. A campfire and hot chocolate will also be provided.
