Westland MLK Celebration and Remembrance Walk – The City will start with a remembrance walk to commemorate his life and legacy followed by our annual ceremony to express how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had inspired us, what his message means to us, and to help inspire people to continue with his message and help make the world a more inclusive and righteous place for us and our children to live in. Light Up Beacon Park
Light Up Beacon Park is family fun at Beacon Park in Detroit. Children of all ages are invited to experience “Toyland” at Beacon Park with larger-than-life light features, including a Choo-Choo Train, Giant Teddy Bear and other photo moments. These new and returning interactive lighting features, totaling more than 125,000 twinkling LED lights will illuminate Beacon Park. Opening Night 11/18 from 5p-11:30p features dancers, live entertainment, live reindeer, Santa, and more. Hosted by the Downton Detroit Partnership.

Heritage Park Sweetheart Stroll – Celebrate Valentines Day with a candle-lit hike through the trails of Heritage Park. Share your love of nature as you discover the courtship and mating behaviors of native animals. Complete the evening with a warm drink and sweet treats at the Nature Center. Ages 18+. Paradise Park Easter Egg Hunt
Paradise Park Easter Egg Hunt & Lunch Buffet – 248-735-1050, www.paradiseparknovi.com. Hundreds of eggs
filled with candy, tokens, and surprises. Paradise Park offers a lunch buffet after the egg hunt. Buffet is served from noon-1:15p and includes apps, pizza, breadsticks, salad, and unlimited beverages. Registration includes – hunt, buffet, free attractions, and games. $21.95 per person, $19.95 per child 9 and younger. Pre-registration required – call 248-735-1050.
