South Lyon Christmas Candy Cane Hunt at McHattie Park in South Lyon. Bring your little one out to grab as many candy canes as they can find. Find the multi-color ones and get a prize. Children will be broken into age groups to ensure each child has a chance to grab a bunch of candy canes. Bring your own bag to fill up. Bring a camera for photo with Santa. This is a FREE event. Stony Creek Metropark Kids Night at the Nature Center – Drop your kids off and enjoy your Friday night, kid-free. Your kids will have a blast as they meet the nature center animals, including our nocturnal opossum. They’ll get a chance to explore outside along a trail, looking for tracks in the moonlight, gazing at the growing moon, and listening for owl calls and coyote howls. Kids will warm up around our campfire and cook s’mores. Snacks will be provided. Ages 7-12. $10 per child. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 586-781-9113.
Commerce Twp Preschool Open House
Commerce Twp Preschool Open House at Commerce Twp Community Library . Meet with preschools from Commerce, Walled Lake, Milford, and White Lake to help find the school best fit for your child. Representatives will be there to answer any questions you have about the process. This program is hosted in partnership with the Commerce Township Community, Walled Lake City, and Wixom Public Libraries. Children welcome. Light refreshments provided. SLARA recommends that children 6 & under sign up for the first time slot. Children 7+ sign up for the 6-8pm time slot. This is only a recommendation, children 3+ are invited to both time slot.
