Indian Springs Metropark Maple Sugaring: Sweet Science – 3 sessions per day – 11a/12p/1p. 248-625-6640, metroparks.com. Travel out to the woods to see the tapping of maple trees, sap collection, and visit the evaporator to learn about the boiling of maple sap. This program is entirely outdoors and runs every hour. You can expect to walk about one-mile on gravel nature trails. Social distancing and face coverings are required. Dress for the weather. $3 per child, $5 per adult, children under two free. All Ages. Pre-registration required 3 days before each program online. A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required for these events. Daily & Annual vehicle permits are on sale NOW. Indian Springs Mother’s Day Wildflower Walk – (248-625-6640, metroparks.com). Early May is the best time of year to see warblers and other songbirds as they journey through Michigan after spending the winter in the tropics. Bring a burst of color to your Mother’s Day morning by viewing some of these winged jewels as well as many native wildflowers blooming in the park. A hike along our nature trails to learn about the wildlife seen along the way. Bring binoculars if you have them. $3 per Child / $5 per adult / Under 2 FREE. All ages event. Indian Springs Metropark Santa’s Candy Cane Trail – Take a stroll along the candy cane trail for a chance to meet a variety of winter characters. See Santa before his big night. Write your letters to Santa at home and stop by Santa’s mailbox during the program to deliver your letters. Each household will start at slightly staggered times within their registered start time. This candy cane trail traverses around the Environmental Discovery Center, with indoor and outdoor attractions. Be sure to bring your cameras. All ages. $5 per person.
