Stony Creek Metropark Maple Sugaring – March 6, 13, 20, & 27 from 10a-3p (1 hour sessions). Learn the history of sugaring and how to identify maple trees. Hike into the spring woods to tap a maple. Afterwards, return to the campfire and learn the process of boiling sap into rich maple syrup. Face coverings and social distancing are required. All ages. $5 per person. Pre-registration is required at least 1 day in advance online or call 586-781-9113. 10a-11:30a, noon-1:30p, 2p–3:30p. A Metroparks vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark. 2021 vehicle permits are on sale NOW. You can pick one up at metroparks.com OR visit your local Metropark today. Clinton Twp Fireworks – at 6p (fireworks start at 10p). Preshow fun (fun for kids, live music) begins at 6p. Food vendors available on-site. Shuttle service and additional parking available at Erie Elementary, 9th Grade Center and St Paul of Tarsus Church. For people with loved ones interred at Resurrection Cemetery, the cemetery is extending hours on 7/4 & 7/5 to allow for visitors to share the 7/5 fireworks with their loved one. Discovery at Dusk – wbparks.org Hit the trails for a sunset hike while searching for the animals most active during twilight. You might be lucky enough to spot fireflies. After the hike, bask in the glow of a campfire, roast s’mores and listen to some stories. This is a family program, all children and adults must register. $7 residents / $9 non-residents. Harrison Twp Monarch & Hummingbird Festival – Lake St Clair Metropark Celebrate the smallest migrators, the Monarch Butterfly and the Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Short, guided hikes throughout the festival in search of these amazing animals. There will be natural crafts, gardening tips, and monarch tagging demonstrations. All ages. FREE event. No pre-registration required. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark. You can purchase an annual pass HERE.
Boo Fest at Green Oak Village Place Shopping Center – Boo Fest is FREE to attend and welcomes witches, werewolves, goblins and ghouls of all ages. Costumes are encouraged and visitors will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat at participating stores. Hosted by Green Oak Village Place.
