Stony Creek Metropark Maple Sugaring – March 6, 13, 20, & 27 from 10a-3p (1 hour sessions). Learn the history of sugaring and how to identify maple trees. Hike into the spring woods to tap a maple. Afterwards, return to the campfire and learn the process of boiling sap into rich maple syrup. Face coverings and social distancing are required. All ages. $5 per person. Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade – The parade will start at Main Street & Lincoln and will proceed north to Second Street The parade has been held on Memorial Day for several decades as a respectful tribute to our veterans – past and present. Come Out & Play – at Catalpa Oaks County Park . Enjoy a day on the playground and other fun activities during the free Come Out and Play event. During these special days, day camps and members of the public can have fun on the zipline, water and non-water inflatables and the climbing tower for free. Children must be at least 45 pounds and 42 inches tall and wear closed-toe shoes for the zipline. A waiver form (click HERE) is also required. Shoes are required for the climbing tower and socks are needed for the non-water inflatables. For the water inflatables, guests may want to bring a swimsuit or change of clothes. FREE Summer Shindig – Catalpa Oaks County Park Enjoy an evening of fun at Catalpa Oaks County Park. Activities include inflatables, a climbing wall, zip line, face painting, balloon artists and more. In addition, there will be a free concert from 7:30p-9p followed by a showing of the movie “Family Camp” at 9p. Food trucks will have hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and more for sale from 6p-9p.
