Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
RARA Pumpkin Roll – at Bloomer Park. Roll your old pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns down the big sled hill. Bring a wagon to haul your pumpkins to the sled hill. Targets will be setup at the bottom of the hill. If your pumpkin gets in the target or closest to the target, you will win a prize. Enjoy a bonfire and cider & donuts after the event. This is a FREE event. No pre-registration required. Hosted by RARA.
Halloween Candy Buyback – Oakland County and Metro Detroit, Michigan Halloween candy buyback and Halloween candy donation programs – Kids can bring in their excess Halloween candy and trade it in for cash! In turn, the dentists will then donate the candy to a good cause. Cash for candy!

Christmas in Clawson Craft Show – Find special, one-of-a-kind gifts, from soaps and candles and quilts and jewelry to furniture and beyond, all hand-made by dozens of talented artists. All proceeds from this non-profit, volunteer-run charity event are proudly donated to Clawson, Michigan’s public school students, teachers, and families directly through our local PTOs and PTSAs. Heritage Park Sweetheart Stroll – Celebrate Valentines Day with a candle-lit hike through the trails of Heritage Park. Share your love of nature as you discover the courtship and mating behaviors of native animals. Complete the evening with a warm drink and sweet treats at the Nature Center. Ages 18+. Sheep Shearing and Pancake Breakfast
Sheep Shearing and Pancake Breakfast – (248-674-5441, www.waterfordmi.gov)
Hosted by Waterford Parks & Recreation. Enjoy the farm animals, make & take craft, the annual sheep shearing, and a pancake breakfast. Admission is FREE but donations are being accepted to benefit the park/farm. Pancake breakfast cost is $5 for 10 & under and $8 for ages 11+.
Clawson Memorial Day Ceremony
Clawson Memorial Day Ceremony – at Blair Public Library Gazebo. Join Clawson American Legion Post 167 to honor fallen heroes with a brief ceremony in honor of the fallen men and women in service. Hosted by the City of Clawson.

Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade
Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade – 11a (lineup) / Parade at 11:30a at Sylvan Lake City Hall and Memorial Park.
The Parade will begin at 11:30a at City Hall and end at Memorial Park with a brief ceremony. Kids are welcome to decorate their bikes and participate in the parade. Veterans that wish to participate are asked to contact Jim Smith at 248-904-9085 to be recognized at Memorial Park ceremony. Kids can begin decorating their bikes for the bike parade (with supplies provided) at City Hall at 10:30a. If you would like to volunteer at the parade / ceremony please contact sylvanlakeparade@gmail.com.
