Foster Care Orientation Meeting
Foster Care Orientation meeting at the Ennis Center for Children are for anyone interested in learning more about how to become a licensed foster parent. The orientation is the first step towards becoming a licensed foster parent with Ennis Center for Children. Information is provided about the types of children in care, how they enter care, and the process/skills needed to become a licensed foster parent. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5p-7p at each local Ennis office. Virtual meetings are held via ZOOM every 3rd Tuesday of the month. For more info, www.enniscenter.org
WB Parks Storytime and Fishing – Bassquatch
WB Parks Storytime and Fishing – Bassquatch – at Marshbank Park (248-451-1900, wbparks.org). Join Mike McKinstry, of “The
Bassquatch Hunter: Fish Out of Water” on the Discovery Channel, in this family-fun event. Mike will read his book, “The Adventures of Seth-Squatch”, do a craft and then hit the docks to fish. Fishing instruction is available. No experience is necessary. All supplies are included. Portions of this event will be filmed and used in an episode of The Bassquatch Hunter-Fish Out of Water. $5 resident / $7 non-resident. Pre-register here. Hosted by WB Parks.

Canterbury Village Tree Lighting
Canterbury Village Tree Lighting – This festive event is fun for the entire family, complete with entertainment and carolers. Shops throughout the quaint Village are open for holiday shopping, smores, hot cocoa, and hot cider stations are set up to enjoy near the outdoor firepits. Tree lighting at 6p. Stony Creek Nighttime Nature
Stony Creek Nighttime Nature at Stony Creek Metropark – Stony Creek Metropark – (586-781-4242,
metroparks.com). A short presentation from a naturalist followed by an evening out on a nature walk. Ages 8+. $5 per person. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 586-781-9113. Canterbury Cocoa Crawl – Experience the quaint ambiance of Canterbury Village as you visit the shops and
boutiques throughout and sample various cocoas. Each shop will feature their own unique chocolate inspired creation for attendees to sample. During the Canterbury Cocoa Crawl children can also mingle with some of their favorite costume characters, enjoy music, and more. Admission is $2 at the door. FREE Parking. West Bloomfield Little Hikers
West Bloomfield Little Hikers – at West Bloomfield Twp Recreation Activities Center (wbparks.org). Join our Naturalist on a nature
discovery walk. Enjoy silly songs and fun activities to keep all ages, from babies to school-aged engaged. Families can explore the Nature Room and Outdoor Natural Play Area after the hike. The trail is 0.5 miles and unpaved so only all-terrain strollers are recommended. A baby backpack/carrier is suggested for infants. The fee is per family. $3 resident / $5 non-resident. WB Parks Bowl With Santa
WB Parks Bowl With Santa – at Wonderland Lanes. John Santa for an afternoon of bowling.
Registration includes 2 games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza, beverage, and a goody bag. At least one parent must register with their child(ren). Additional family members who would like to spectate only, must register under course #3030-Xtra and pay the spectator fee. Please note, food and bowling is not included as a spectator. West Bloomfield Winter Solstice Celebration
West Bloomfield Winter Solstice Celebration at Recreation Activities Center – Celebrate the most magical and darkest night of the year and the slow return of the sun. Walk the glowing trail. Activity stations will be set up throughout this experience: create a glowing craft; Oakland Astronomy Club will be guiding you through the night sky with telescopes (weather permitting); A custom glowing ice carving will be on display for a photo op; Roast a marshmallow around the fire; Learn about nature in winter.
