Foster Care Orientation Meeting
Foster Care Orientation meeting at the Ennis Center for Children are for anyone interested in learning more about how to become a licensed foster parent. The orientation is the first step towards becoming a licensed foster parent with Ennis Center for Children. Information is provided about the types of children in care, how they enter care, and the process/skills needed to become a licensed foster parent. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5p-7p at each local Ennis office. Virtual meetings are held via ZOOM every 3rd Tuesday of the month. For more info, www.enniscenter.org
Troy Community Center Used Jewelry & Purse Sale
Troy Community Center Used Jewelry & Purse Sale (248-524-3484). Stop in at this fundraising event in room
304 benefiting the Friends of Troy Seniors. They will have an assortment of gently used purses and jewelry at bargain prices. Donations will be taken beginning May 20 at the Troy Community Center front desk. This is a FREE event. Hosted by Troy Recreation.
Clarkston Preschool Nature Program
Clarkston Preschool Nature Program at Wint Nature Center (248-625-6473). Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the outdoors. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and a related hands-on activity. Each child will make a craft to take home. A different seasonal theme each month. Cost is $5/child. or purchase a Day Pass. New opportunity for the youngest patrons to work on gross motor and socialization skills, while burning off energy in the cold-weather months. The gym will have a variety of age appropriate toys to ride, push, or explore. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an individual aged 16 or older. Rochester Hills Festival of the Hills Fireworks – at Borden Park. Oakland County’s largest fireworks show returns to Borden Park in Rochester Hills. The Festival of the Hills at Borden Park starts at 6p with family games, music and live entertainment, and the fireworks kicking off at 10:06pm. Fireworks Hotline – 248-841-BOOM.
