Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
Oakland County Parks will mark the Juneteenth holiday by waiving vehicle entry fees on Monday, June 19. Oakland County Parks’ Mobile Recreation Unit will also be participating in local celebration and commemoration events honoring Juneteenth throughout Oakland County with fun, free activities such as inflatables, games, climbing towers and more.
Visitors can enjoy access to general park activities, including trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, beaches and fishing spots from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset (unless otherwise posted).
Kensington Metropark Movie Nights – Pack up the family and head out to your Metropark to enjoy a movie under the stars. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs and some popcorn and your favorite snacks and spend a night in the park then settle in to enjoy the show. Arrive early to pick your viewing spot and then before the movie starts enjoy the park. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark. All ages event. Spencer Park Bass Tournament – The Park Bass Tournament is open to ALL AGES and SKILL LEVELS. All fishing is done from shore and there will be prizes for the most bass caught and also for the largest bass. Tournament participation is $5. Participants receive free park vehicle entry.
