West Bloomfield Easter Spring Fling Flashlight Egg Hunt – For ages 7-12. Bring a flashlight and basket to carry away all your goodies. Come at 7:30 p if you wish to participate in the train ride and the petting zoo. Event will begin when it is totally dark (approximately 8:30p). This event will go rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Winter or rain boots highly recommended. *IF not sold out in advance, on-site registration will be $10 cash only. Southfield Touch-a-Truck – Sensory sensitive hour is from 1p-2p (reduced lighting and sound). Big trucks little trucks, emergency vehicles, demonstrations, drones, and more. Hosed by the City of Southfield.
Farmington Hills Safety & Crime Prevention Fair – This is a FREE event for the community that is focused on providing preventative information to parents, adults, teens and even kids. Topics being discussed include: Scams/identity theft prevention, safe sleeping practices for infants, medication vs. candy, firearms safety, medication take-back, and other important topics that would benefit the public. There will be a dedicated kids area where kids can color cut-out police cars and badges. The Hawk FH Kick Off 2 Summer – FREE Open House with giant bouncers, tours, giveaways, crafts, and performances. FREE outdoor movie at sunset (around 9p). Concessions available for purchase. All ages FREE event. Hosted by the Farmington Hills Special Services (Parks & Rec) Department.

Downtown Milford 4th of July Parade – Downtown Milford. Due to road closures, this year’s event will take a new scenic route. The parade will begin at 11a on Cabinet Street and will proceed east on Commerce Street to Main Street. Then, will head south on Main Street to end at the entrance of Central Park. For the best parade view, set up a seat along the stretch of Commerce Street from Cabinet to Main Street. You can expect to see proud veterans, color guards, marching bands and more proudly make their way through the route while the community cheers them on. FREE Summer Shindig – Catalpa Oaks County Park Enjoy an evening of fun at Catalpa Oaks County Park. Activities include inflatables, a climbing wall, zip line, face painting, balloon artists and more. In addition, there will be a free concert from 7:30p-9p followed by a showing of the movie “Family Camp” at 9p. Food trucks will have hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and more for sale from 6p-9p. No registration is needed, just come out and have fun. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.
West Bloomfield Preschool Open House – from 9a-1p & 4p-6p. Open House for The Sarah & Irving Pitt Early Childhood Center / The J Detroit. The preschool accepts children as young as newborns up to pre-K four-year-olds. In the coming academic year, enrichment program offerings include gym, music, cooking, Hebrew, and Judaic classes. As an added incentive, this year the $100 enrollment fee is being waived for new students to help reduce the overall cost, and new families that sign up by Sept. 1 will get two weeks of free school.
