Farmington Hills Nature Preschool Info

Farmington Hills Nature Preschool is a licensed half-day preschool for children ages 3-5 that utilizes the resources of Heritage Park for an immersive nature-based learning program. Learning objectives and school fundamentals are similar to traditional preschool but a majority of the curriculum largely relates to nature.

Farmington Hills Nature Preschool

This program is offered to both Farmington Hills residents and Non-Residents alike. The school year is traditional to post K education and runs from after Labor Day through the 1st or 2nd week of June.

Half-day programs are offered in both AM and PM. AM hours options for ages 3-5 are from 9a-noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays OR 9a-noon on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. There is also a PM option for kids ages 3-5 from 1p-4p on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The other M/W/F PM option is designed as a “Young Fives” program for children ages 4-5.

Farmington Hills Nature Preschool program offers a meaningful and immersive nature-based
learning program for children. Time will be spent in beautiful throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring at Heritage Park where children can connect deeply with nature while they participate in research-based curriculum focused on play and discovery.

If you’re familiar with Heritage Park, you won’t question the facilities chosen. The Nature Center and Nature Center Day Camp building provide wonderful resources for indoor play and fun. But, children in this program will be spending a lot of time outdoors exploring the trails throughout the 211 acre property. Kids can thrive learning about nature in the 4 seasons of the park and learn all about the animals that call the park home all year long.

HERITGE PARK REVIEW

The Nature Preschool program fills quickly, but enrollment will be open throughout the year, as class capacities allow. If a class is full, add your child to the waitlist and they will contact about enrollment.

Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in January 2025.
