Goldfish FREE WATER Safety Presentations

Goldfish Swim Schools of Metro Detroit are offering FREE 20-minute W.A.T.E.R safety presentations in May for kids ages 3-7 years old. These events are designed to be educational AND fun!

Sometimes as parents we have to get serious with our children. We tell our kids to look both ways before crossing the street, not to run with scissors, and to stay away from water unless there is an adult around. We do all of this to help keep our kids safe. We do it because we love them. What happens, though, when we aren’t around or our kids don’t listen to our advice? Will they know how to keep themselves safe when the time comes?

When it comes to summer and swim season in Michigan, this thought passes through parents’ minds frequently. When the weather warms up, children spend countless hours swimming at the lake or the community pool. Because we are a state surrounded by lakes, and because children love the water, it is important that in any situation they are prepared to take safety into their own hands.

With Jenny McCuiston – a mother of four – in charge of curriculum, Goldfish Swim School knew that it wanted to ensure that kids were taught how to take control of their own safety. That is why in addition to its year-round focus on water safety, including FREE W.A.T.E.R. safety presentations, Goldfish Swim School is dedicating the entire month of May to keeping kids safer in water.

Goldfish FREE WATER Safety Presentations

Goldfish locations will be hosting free family events on May 14 dedicated to reaching out into their community and teaching the importance of water safety. Each location has something special and unique planned and you don’t have to be a member to attend. These events may include W.A.T.E.R. safety presentations as well as food, crafts, face painting and bounce houses. So if you are ready to get serious with your kids about water safety while still having fun as a family, be sure to call your local Goldfish Swim School to get all the details of their event.

If you can’t make it to one of the safety events on May 14, you can always call your local Goldfish for a free presentation at a later time. Meanwhile, check out these other great water safety stories and tips for children as young as infants as you begin to get ready for swim season.
